For 14 years, composer/pianist Jason Moran has created music for Whitney collection performance artist Joan Jonas. In MUSIC FOR JOAN JONAS, Moran and Jonas come together to record excerpts of three of their major collaborations.

Disc one: The Shape, The Scent, The Feel of Things. A performance by Joan Jonas, which responds to German art historian Aby Warburg’s essay about his visit to the American Southwest. Text is excerpted from "Images from the Region of the Pueblo Indians of North America" by Aby Warburg. Originally created for Dia:Beacon.
