Surrealist artists such as Marcel Duchamp, and Man Ray, whose works are featured in the Whitney's permanent collection, are known to have played a collaborative, chance-based drawing game called Exquisite Corpse. Each participant would draw an image on a sheet of paper, fold the paper to conceal their contribution, and pass it on to the next player to contribute. Fun for all ages, this spiral bound sketch pad is made up of 40 sheets cut in thirds, offering endless combinations of Exquisite Corpse drawing games. The cover features parts of three Edward Hopper drawings. Designed for the Whitney Shop.
